RELEASE: Pompeo Foundation Releases Brief on US Policy in the Middle East

As the Middle Eastern peace plan enters its next phase, the Pompeo Foundation argues that American leadership is crucial to securing regional peace and security.

McLean, VA – The Pompeo Foundation today released a background briefer entitled "Advancing US Leadership to Secure Peace in the Middle East," the second policy publication by the organization founded to advance the foreign policy vision of former Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

The briefer identifies the areas of continuity between the first and second Trump administrations’ policies toward Israel, Iran, and the broader region. Picking up on that thread, this report advocates for policies that fully disempower Hamas, further isolate and weaken Iran as a regional power, and maintain the “no daylight” stance toward Israel that has done so much to advance American interests in the region.

“Thanks to Israel and America’s decisive actions, we have a window of opportunity to fundamentally remake the Middle East for the better,” said Jim Richardson, Executive Chairman of the Pompeo Foundation. “Drawing on the policies put forward during Secretary Pompeo’s tenure at the State Department, this briefer offers a series of comprehensive next steps to build on our successes and put the region on the path to a peaceful, secure and prosperous future.”
